ATL

Updated: Aug 18, 2020

You can’t live 5 hours from Atlanta and not go, right?

ATL was everything I wanted it to be!  But, I still have so much to experience!

Here’s what I did during my short weekend getaway to the Peach🍑 State.

CNN Studio Tour:

As a true “newser” I had to visit the CNN headquarters and take a tour!

CNN (Cable News Network) has studios all across the country, New York, Washington D.C., and LA, but the headquarters are in Atlanta.

Although I know most of the ins-and-outs of TV news, it was really cool to see such a huge studio. This thing has a food court for goodness sakes...

We toured the CNN and HLN, newsrooms. We got to go inside a few studios for HLN and CNN (btw there are a lot more than just 1 studio or newsroom).

Although I didn’t meet anyone on-air like Robin Meade HLN Morning Express, Fredericka Whitfield, or Melissa Knowles, it was a great experience! I even got to take a few photos on the green screen!

My Georgia Peaches

My cousins recently moved to Atlanta which was the best excuse to visit! I call them my Georgia peaches because they are just too cute and sweet!

Meet my cousin Necy! I hadn’t seen her since a family reunion back when I was 11 years old!

Necy has two amazingly beautiful daughters Cayla and Lyrica, my “baby cousins”, who I absolutely adore!

These girls are so funny, smart, and witty!

My cousin Cayla is also a “vlogger”!

“Hawks Game Floor It, TV Seat Front Row It”

I got to check out my first Hawks game! The game to go to would have been versus Golden State, but I’m not complaining!

The Hawks played the Phoenix Suns and won by one point!

The Nighlife:

I did not go to the typical spots like Buckhead,Midtown, or Stone Mountain. I did go to some great bars and restaurants in other areas. But, next time I’m determined to go to the Nawf Side (Yeah, Dat way).

We went to a restaurant called The Optimist which had really good oysters and the gumbo was surprisingly good (I’m spoiled being in Mobile). It’s rated one of the best restaurants in Atlanta.

After dinner, my cousin and I got drinks in Edgewood. It was a bunch of fun!

In Atlanta there is no such thing as “doing too much”, so I went a little more risqué than usual with the fashion, but you are only young once, right?

My satin Bralet top is from Forever 21

My 2-piece grey satin duster/pant combo is from a store that I can’t remember the name of in Bell Air Mall. But I found a similar set online on Poshmark! Click here for the details!

My shoes are the beaded T-strap sandals in Nude from Charlotte Russe

I had the best time visiting family and making new friends! I can’t wait to explore more of the city and check out Midtown and Buckhead! Till next time Hotlanta!

From exploring Gulf Coast Beaches 🌊 to eating Georgia Peaches 🍑
